Automatic smart tagging

Automatic smart tagging is on by default for new captures and sends a limited amount of each item’s content to an external AI service when available. You can turn it off in Settings → Notifications before capture. Older items are not scanned. Hosted OCR requires a separate explicit request. See the privacy notice and smart-tag guide for data-transfer and retention details.

Editing generated tags

Generated tags may be incomplete, irrelevant or inaccurate. Canvas Perch adds successful tags automatically, and you can edit or remove them immediately. A failed request leaves the original item intact. Legacy stored suggestions remain unapplied unless you explicitly choose Tag again. Per-account request limits apply, and smart tagging may be unavailable. Canvas Perch still stores your saved items and tags; see the privacy notice for retention details.
